Ida Kay Smith, 86, of Kokomo, formerly of Columbus, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Community Howard Hospital, Kokomo. She was born December 1, 1938 in Bedford, IN, to James and Catherine (Turpin) Embree. They preceded her in death.
Ida was a member of New Hope Christian Church. She was a homemaker and loved cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lewis Wayne Smith; a daughter, Kathy Baugher; a son, Paul Wayne Smith; a granddaughter, Jessica Hope Baugher; and several siblings.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Steven Baugher of Kokomo; grandson, Aaron (Khristy) Baugher, of Kokomo; a sister, Mary; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Gabriel, Jessica, and Xavier Baugher.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2024 at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor John Sichting officiating. She will be laid to rest at Williams Cemetery, Williams, IN.
Visitation will also be at the funeral home Friday from 1 – 2 p.m.
