

Mr. Norton was a technical supervisor for JayC Food Stores for 40 years, retiring in 1999.
He attended First United Methodist Church in Columbus, was a 50-year member of the Washington, Indiana, Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite and had a special love for horses and his dog.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street. Calling will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Humane Society or Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Born Jan. 23, 1929 in Pike County, Indiana, Mr. Norton was the son of Wilbur and Rose Powell Norton. He married Barbara L. Hagerty Aug. 9, 1951, in Washington, Ind.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lisa (Tom) Burns of Columbus; a son, Mark (Dana) Norton of Battletown, KY; sisters, Mariam (John) Carroll and Martha (Bernard) Mallett of Plainville, IN; a brother, Thomas (Mary) Norton of Washington, IN; and grandchildren, Jasmin Burns of New Albany, IN, and Jacy Norton of San Diego, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
