This is such sad news. I was a little boy when I knew your parents. They were our next door neighbors in Forest Park. We moved into the house after the Von Langs. Your parents were both very kind. My parents remember them fondly. They loved seeing us all together as a family playing basketball in the shared driveway.
I remember a fairly traumatic event (though now funny) where my mother encouraged me to give up my LEGO collection, as I was in middle school and it was time. I dutifully walked the LEGO suitcases over to your front door and Janet answered. She kindly collected them and I walked away. I was devastated but she was so sweet about it. Anyway, I’m so sorry for your loss. They will be missed!

Julie and Jennifer -

So sorry to learn of this news. Your dad was the best - which I'm sure I don't need to tell you.

He interviewed me prior to - and as a condition of - my initiation into Sigma Chi. To me - at the time - he was bigger than life - and I was terrified that I'd blow it somehow.

Please - please reach out to me if you plan to have a proper funeral or celebration of life at some point down the road. He has earned - and deserves the Sigma Chi White Rose ceremony - and I'd be honored to help put that together somehow.

My best to you both.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was such a kind, friendly man. We enjoyed talking sports and he always showed interest in my boys baseball and football. He would send me clippings from the paper with a note which I have kept in their scrapbooks. (Even though they play for the Orange and Brown across town;) I will miss him so much.
Praying for your family

We first met Jim shortly after moving into to our home. When he introduced himself by yelling loudly across the median separating our houses, I knew right there and then that we had a good neighbor on our hands :). Over the next year or so, Jim took it upon himself to call and check in on us periodically and see how things were going. I always enjoyed those brief chats with him. Also, with the birth of our son, Jim appeared to be as excited as anyone to hear updates on his progress. To say it simply, we could not have asked for a better neighbor than Jim and believe he set an excellent example for how to be a model neighbor and genuine person in general. Our biggest regret in our relationship with Jim is that circumstances didn't permit us more time to get to know him as we're sure it would have been a rewarding relationship to cultivate.

Love and Prayers from the Walters

My deepest condolences on the passing on of Mr. Foulke. I will surely miss him and sharing a box of popcorn with him at Columbus North athletic events. He always thanked me for service. I would like to thank him for his military and community service, especially supporting Special Olympics athletes. He is a gem.

My son Jacob was the manager for Columbus North Basketball for 4 years and your dad was always so kind to him and he would tease him. Whenever I would see Jim he would ask about Jacob and that was so appreciated.. Jim was a memorable guy and one of the good ones. I am sorry for your loss but know you have so many happy memories .

Julie & Jennifer,
Please know that your dad (and mom) will always hold a special place in my heart. My memories of your dad range from when I was very young to recently (pre-covid), seeing him at St. Peters with Mr. Webb. He always had a familiar smile and a kind word to share with me - even sometimes a little ornery! He was a "guys guy" but loved his girls so much. He used to watch me like a hawk when I would ride my bike from Parkside to Forest Park and hang around your house!! When it came to dads (and moms) we all hit the jackpot! Peace, love, and comfort to you both. Steve
