

Mr. Urbahns was born in Bartholomew County, IN. on September 05, 1920 to the late Robert E. and Emma L. Menges Urbahns.
He married Wilma Jean Schuder in Columbus, IN. on September 25, 1942 and she preceded him in death on May 02, 1999.
Mr. Urbahns was a retired carpenter.
He was a 1938 Columbus High School graduate.
Mr. Urbahns was a World War II United States Army Veteran. He served in the European Theater of Operation from Africa through Sicily, Italy, Anzio Beachhead, Rome-Arno Campaign and with the invasion of Southern France and into Germany.
He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church where in previous years he had served on various boards and committees.
The funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Urbahns will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St. with Pastor Doug Bauman officiating.
Calling hours will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service on Saturday.
Burial with military graveside rites presented by the Indiana Army National Guard Honor Guard in conjunction with the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery at Clifty.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Lutheran Hour, the Lutheran Service for Shut-Ins or to the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clifty.

Mr. Urbahns is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Stan) Koehlinger of Bolivar, OH. and Ann (Mike) Vance of Snellville, GA.; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Along with his parents and wife, Mr. Urbahns was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Robert Urbahns; three sisters and seven brothers.
