Mark was born July 23, 1956 in Raleigh, North Carolina, and raised in Elkhart, Indiana by parents Leonard G. and Nancy L. (Auman) Zitzer. He graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School in 1975, attended IUSB and then later Indiana University Bloomington. He married the former Judy I. Moon in Elkhart, Indiana in 1976, and they had three wonderful children, Benjamin J. Zitzer, Matthew B. Zitzer, and Jessica A. Zitzer. Mark married Angela J. Stewart in 2003, and was very blessed to gain another son, Nicholas R. Adkins. Mark retired from Xerox in 2013, and since has been a named account executive at Konica-Minolta Business Solutions in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was fortunate enough to love his long career in sales and made Xerox president’s club seven out the close to fourteen years he worked there. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer, sailor, enjoyed cooking, and spent time exploring his intellectual curiosity through reading. He took great pride in his children, and spent his weekends traveling often with his wife Angela J. Stewart whom he loved dearly.
Mark is survived by his four children Nicholas R. Adkins, Benjamin J. Zitzer, Matthew B. Zitzer, and Jessica A. Zitzer as well as his wife Angela J. Stewart of Columbus, Indiana; his sister Saundra K. Stewart; brother-in-law’s Robert L. Stewart and Steven J. Stewart; and his first wife Judy I. Moon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard G. and Nancy L. Zitzer, his brother-in-law, Richard R. Stewart, his stepmother, Thelma Lockaby-Zitzer, and his father-in-law, Murrell R. Stewart.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to either Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) foundation.
