Mary Jane (Campbell) Everett , 97, of Columbus, Indiana, died on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at Brown County Health & Living Community.
As an "army brat" Mary Jane lived in many places, but she lived in Columbus forty
years.
A 1943 graduate of Farmville State Teachers College (now Longwood University) in Virginia, she worked in cryptology for the U.S. Army in Washington D. C. during WWII.
Later she worked in insurance agencies wherever she lived. Her last job was office manager and co-owner of the Everett Agency in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.
Mary Jane loved playing bridge. She and her husband. Bill, were known as a formidable team among local duplicate bridge players. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, needlework, and "word" puzzles of all kinds.
No funeral service is planned. She asked to be cremated and a private interment will be held at a later date.
Mary Jane was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Port Townsend, Washington, the daughter of Richard H. and Evelyn Cooney Campbell. She married William T. (Bill) Everett September 29, 1944 in Arlington, Virginia.
She is survived by daughters: Patricia (Bill) Lloyd of Nashville, Anne Everett-Pataki (Arpad), and Janie Everett both of Columbus; grandchildren: Anne-Marie (Todd) Kirkland and Alison Ross both of Columbus, Adam Ross of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Andrew (Christa) Lloyd of Cincinnati, and Matthew (Danza) Lloyd of Bloomington; twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
