Mary E. Nester

Mrs. Nester was retired from the security department at Connersville High School. She attended church services at the United Methodist Home Chapel in Franklin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Jerome Baker officiating. Calling will be from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice.

Born in Minden, W.V., March 15, 1924, Mrs. Nester was the daughter of Ira and Theresa McGorman Huffman. She married John W. Nester June 17, 1944, in Minden. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 2010.

Survivors include a son, Ron (Irene) Nester of Columbus; a sister, Bertha Reid of Harrisburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Melody (Brian) Thorpe and Angie Naylor of Columbus; and great-grandchildren, Brianna and Bailey Thorpe and Cameron and Dalton Naylor, all of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, John W. Nester Jr.; one brother; and one sister.
