

Nadine Carter, 79, of Columbus, died at 1:55 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Born in Davies County, April 9, 1936, she was the daughter of Samuel Demcy and Alice Russell Crossland. She married Regal L. Carter on November 24, 1965, in Flatrock and he preceded her April 9, 2005.
Nadine had been a waitress, worked in the Canning Factory most of her life and was a homemaker. She attended Jewell Village Separate Baptist Church, enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed watching Tony Stewart race, and Bobby Knight and IU basketball.
The funeral for Nadine will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday July, 29, 2015 in Myers-Reed Chapel with Brother Glenn Poynter officiating. Burial will follow in Garland Brook Cemetery. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Nadine is survived by her daughter, Sheena (Chris) Lyons, Columbus; sisters and brothers, Judy (Larry) Michael, Bloomfield, Dennis (Debbie) Crossland, Hope, Cathy Crossland, Columbus and William Crossland of Columbus.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Larry Boaz; brothers and sisters, Samuel, Richard, Vern, Donald, Alan, Dwight, Norman Crossland and Janet Newton.
