I'm so sorry to hear that Nancy has passed away. She was such a dear sweet lady. I have very fond memories of working for her & Doyle at Terra Cotta. I would do their displays and do floral arrangements in the basement. I still have a brass cherub that I got there. I loved the music they would play there all day long. They even drove all the way to Bloomington one time for my Christmas open house that I used to always have. What a dear sweet couple. My heartfelt condolences to Doyle and all the family.

Almost never at a loss for words, I find it difficult to vocalize my grief. Lost in memories thru the years of the wonderful, kind Aunt that I adored and was blessed to be related too. I will forever cherish the love she showed, the laughter we shared, and how she always made me feel special. Heartfelt condolences to my cousins & Uncle Doyle...

Although expected, my soul groaned to learn of aunt Nancy's passing. She always treated me as one of her own and the bond between her and my father was unbreakable.

I have many great memories of her from our multiple visits during childhood, holidays and family reunions together, times at Terra Cotta, and so on.

One of my most recent favorites was going to Old Union Christian Church in Fayetteville, Indiana with Doyle and my wife Jackie in 2013 to visit the graves of Abraham and Susanna Kern, my 3x and her 2x great grandparents.

As was the case when my father passed away, a quote comes to mind: "With the death of every friend I have loved, a part of me has been buried. But their contributions to my strength and happiness remain to sustain me in an altered world." --Helen Keller

Nancy & Doyle were mine and Sandys' neighbors. They were such a loving pair who always had time to invite us in for a chat. The times that Doyle needed us to drive up with him and Nancy to his eye doctor was full of laughter and Doyles stories of years past. When they left our neighborhood we tried several times to visit them but as time went on it seemed that our once familiar faces were no longer recognizable. They will always be remembered in our hearts as the folks who made our neighborhood a brighter and good place to live.

My love to the family.

I was sadden to read about Nancy’s passing in this morning’s Republic. It was such a delight to visit with her while shopping at Terra Cotta. The memory of her is forever in my home as I look at all the wonderful items we bought over the years. It took us forever to find good coffee beans locally after the shop closed.

Absolutely no surprise to read that Doyle was there by her side throughout her illness and in her passing. Their relationship will always be a loving example for the rest of us.

Rest In Peace, Nancy.
