Phyllis was born in Edmonton, Kentucky July 29, 1955, the daughter of Ray and Drucilla Gibson Thompson. She attended the former Berean Bible Church, loved to read and was an avid shopper. She loved cats, the outdoors and flowers. She married Paul E. Nyberg October 18, 1996, he survives.
Also surviving are daughter, Amber (Denny) Gilley of Columbus; son, Paul (Janeen) Nyberg of Seymour; sister, Juanita (Michael) Henderson of Columbus; grandchildren Ryan Thompson and Anna Gilley of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Hathaway~Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with Rev Jerry K. Day, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from Noon to service time Friday. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
In keeping with CDC and Indiana guidelines, social distancing must be followed and masks are required. You may also be asked to wait outside due to the social distanced capacity of the funeral home.
