He was born on February 18, 1953, in Springfield, IL, to William A. and Betty (Southland) Pierson, who preceded him in death. Randy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A lifelong enthusiast of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, he found great joy and freedom on the open road.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Pierson.
Randy is survived by his son, Randall Shawn Pierson of Columbus; his long-time girlfriend, Pat Scroghan of Columbus; his brother, Michael Pierson of Speedway; grandchildren, Darian Pierson, Tanner Koontz, Alexis Meyers, Sydney Tolbert, Lexi Parton, Jasmine, Kealie, Bailee and Taylor Vanantwerp, and Vettica Clancy; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Myers-Reed Chapel, with Rev. Al White officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, and again from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
Randy will be remembered for his patriotic spirit, his love of motorcycles, and his deep devotion to family and friends.
