Sally Ann Johnson Schneckenberger, 61, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Sally was born February 20, 1958 in Jamestown, NY to the late Florence Clara (Ticknor) and Alton Bradley Johnson. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and St. Bonaventure University and had the honor of being valedictorian for both her high school and college graduations. Sally married the love of her life, Craig Anthony Schneckenberger, on May 4, 1985 in Chautauqua, NY. One of Sally and Craig’s first dates took place at a bowling alley where Sally showed off her prowess. She had the talent to become a professional bowler but shared her skills as an accountant with the world instead. During her career she worked for Cummins, Ivy Tech (as a professor of accounting), and most recently Blairex Laboratories. Sally grew up as an only child but dreamed of having a large family of her own. Her dreams were realized when she became a mother to her three children and recently became a grandmother for the first time. She is survived by her husband, Craig of Columbus, children Bradley Alton (wife Brianne) of McCordsville, Ashleigh Marie (fiancé Adam Hadley) of Columbus, and Kimberly Florence (boyfriend Oscar Richter) of Columbus. She is also survived by her precious granddaughter, Adilynne Clara. Spending time with family was always Sally’s priority. She loved to gather around the dining room table and play board games, not caring whether she won or lost – just happy to be with loved ones. Sally loved to go line dancing and play euchre at the local senior center with Craig. She and Craig enjoyed traveling and would often take the family on vacations or day trips to see a play at Beef and Boards or break out of an escape room. Countless times she joined her daughters in participating in half marathons, often doing her training by taking long walks with her beloved dog, Zuko. Most importantly, Sally was the kindest and most selfless person to all that knew her. She always put the needs of others before her own and made sure those she loved were well taken care of. Days before she passed, Sally participated in the Monumental Marathon in Indianapolis where she passed by a food pantry with patrons lined up outside waiting for their meals. She was so moved by this image that she made a point to tell her husband after the race that she wanted to donate to the food pantry. In honor of Sally’s giving spirit, her family asks that any monetary donations be made to Mid-North Food Pantry (3333 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46208). Visitation will be 9-10:30 on Saturday, November 30 at Myers-Reed Chapel (3729 25th St, Columbus, IN) with funeral services at 10:30. Following services, burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
