

Susan Belle Hayford, 85, of Columbus, IN, died at 11:05 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Four Seasons Health Care Center. She was born in Columbus November 1, 1929 and was the daughter of Harry Wesley Sullivan, Sr. and Edith Bowers Sullivan Dilk.
Susan had worked for Arvin Industries in assembly and as an inspector and retired in 1992. She was one of the first women to be moved to the Gladstone plant. She prided herself on working hard and never taking a sick day. She later worked for Senior Products at the Senior Center. She enjoyed meeting once a month with the ladies from Arvin for breakfast. Her hobbies were Bingo, NASCAR racingand being a Tony Stewart fan. She followed her children and later her grandchildren in their band trips and adventures. She had been to Europe on tours.
Surviving is Susan’s son, Mike (Becky) Collins, Columbus; daughter, Vicki (Richard) Blanco, Perrysburg, OH; sister, Linda Bowers, Franklin; brother, Thomas (Evelyn) Sullivan, Shelbyville; grandchildren, Cameron Collins, New York City, NY, Michaela (Caleb) Ayew-ew, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mary Katherine Blanco and Wesley Hunter Blanco, all of Perrysburg and one great-grandson, soon to be born, Isaiah Ayew-ew. Susan was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Grace McGee and Alice Cooper; and a brother, Harry Wesley Sullivan, Jr.
The funeral service for Susan will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor John Marquis officiating. Burial will follow in Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Columbus North High School Performing Arts program.
