Abigail Violet Coning

Abigail 'Abby' Violet Coning, age 16, of New Albany, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly from complications from epilepsy on April 10th, 2019. She was born on November 20th, 2002 in Kokomo, Indiana to Douglas and Sheri Coning.

James 1:17 says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." Abby was a gift and we thank God for her uniqueness and every moment we had with her.

As a young child, Abby placed her faith in God and his son, Jesus as her savior. She exhibited her love for God and others by serving in her church, singing in kids worship, traveling on several mission trips, and showing kindness to friends at school. Abby had a tremendous passion for art and expressing herself creatively through the colorful clothes she wore (often wearing mismatching bright socks) and her many vibrant drawings. She unabashedly loved music, especially Twenty-One Pilots, Toby Mac, and NF. She also loved her puggle and pug dogs, Coco and Gimli.

Abby is preceded in death by her close cousin Sophia Johansson, and her great-grandparents: Carl and Violet Lawson (Abby's namesake). She will be greatly missed by her parents; brothers, Andrew (Cheyenne) Coning and Tim Coning; grandparents, Jim and Glenda Coning, and Clint and Naomi Trice; aunts, Susan Johansson (Lennart), Heather Coning and Daphney Ingle; and cousins, Jordan Dillon, Broderick Coning, Austin Dillon, Landon Ingle, Alex Johansson, and Emma Johansson.

Family will receive friends for viewing on Tuesday April 16, 2019 from 5:30-7pm at Quest Vineyard Church, 4877 Central College Rd, Westerville, OH 43081; where a celebration of Abby's life will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2019 at 1pm. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in New Albany.

The family wishes to thank Quest Vineyard Church; New Albany High School students, teachers and staff; and the community for the incredible outpouring of love and many prayers during this difficult time.

Abby was truly loved in life and in passing. We thank you for your love of our daughter.
