AJ is survived by his wife, Jennifer Hargreave; his stepdaughter, Mac; his brother and best friend, Wayne, and sister-in-law, Tonya; his brothers, Jordon and Joshua; his beloved dog, Edi; and a large circle of cherished extended family and countless treasured friends.
AJ was a gentle soul with an extremely generous nature. Always ready to show up if you needed him—be it with a smile, with a joke, or with love. He didn’t make a show of it; he simply showed it.
He found deep joy in attending concerts of all kinds, traveling, playing backgammon, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved dogs and gave an incredible life to his beloved Maya and Murphy, then to Edi. His humor was memorable; dry, sharp, playful, sometimes dark, and always perfectly timed.
AJ struggled for most of his life with health issues but persevered, fighting to be there for his family and friends and never allowing the struggles to fully break his spirit. What defined him was his generous nature, devotion to his family, and instinctive desire to help others.
He will be missed by so many.
A celebration of life will be held on his birthday, April 25, 2026; details will be shared closer to the date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite animal rescue on behalf of AJ.
