

Aida “Rusti” Iris Savage, 84, passed away peacefully on November 29th, 2025, at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on May 23, 1941, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, to Mother Betsy (Almenas) Cowgill and Father Angel Santiago.
First coming to the U.S. when she was eight years old, and speaking very little English, she grew into a young Puerto Rican woman who built a life, through adversities, that can be defined by resilience, pride, and perseverance. She was seen as the proud Matriarch who enjoyed traveling, dancing, a great glass of sangria, being the life of the party, and appreciated living in several states over the course of her marriage. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda McClary-Rogers, who passed away in 2022.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John “Cowboy” Jacob Savage who grew up in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Her legacy will continue through her children, Philip Cobb, Keith (Amy) Cobb, Tamara Henry, John Lance (Holly) Savage, her grandchildren, Nicole Wicks (John), Natasha Szczygiel-Hicks (Singleton), Tyler (Kristen) Savage, Hannah Savage, Alexandria Koepke (Mike), Mariana Savage, her great grandchildren, Wyatt Brake, John Wicks, Jesse Wicks, Jeremy Wicks, Eve Wicks, Katelyn Szczygiel-Hicks, Michael Koepke, Max Koepke, Eli Koepke, Nathan Savage, Preston Savage, extended family, Stacey Proctor (Robert), Fran Sarkett, and friends The Wine Goddesses, and those at the Moose Lodge #1427.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Rusti at the Moose Lodge located at 1970 Schrock Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229 on Thursday, December 11th, 2025, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm (remembrance at 6:30 pm).
