

Albert retired as a Sergeant First Class from the US Army after serving 22 years. During his military service he earned the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medals (3), Army Achievement Medals (2), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Good Conduct Medals (7), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals (2), Humanitarian Service medal, Noncommissioned officer's professional development ribbon with numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4), Marksmanship Badge with Rifle Bar, and the US Army gold Recruiter Badge. Following retirement from the military, Albert worked in the Telecommunications field for 24 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 797 in Gahanna, Ohio.
Albert was a kindhearted soul who loved life and country. He enjoyed riding his bike, camping, hiking, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his family. Albert was loved by many for his kindness, understanding, support, humor and is remembered for his contagious smile and positive energy. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Gahanna.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Laura (nee Fischer), his son Brian Gray (Brian), daughter Rebecca Gray and grandson Albert Christopher Gray, all of Columbus; his brothers William Gray (Jeanette), Charles Gray (Regina) and sisters Barbara Giddens (Milton) and Anne Nurse (Ben) all of Norfolk, VA, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Marjorie Gray, brother Robert Foreman and sisters Eloise White and Gloria Griffin.
The family will receive friends on July 29th from 5:00pm - 9:00pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, East Johnstown Road, Gahanna.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 30th at 11:00am at the funeral home, with full military honors provided by the US Army and American Legion Post 797, followed by a luncheon.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Veterans Section, at a later date.
