Alberta M. Stevens

Alberta Mary (Schlachter) Stevens, age 100, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023. Alberta was born November 30, 1922 in Jasper, Indiana. She married Leonard Stevens on October 22, 1942. She was an impeccably dressed woman wearing yellow, her favorite color, on most occasions. Enjoyed the OSU football season and gardening. Attended Eastminster Presbyterian Church for many years with several friends and family. Her kind spirit will definitely be missed. Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Schlachter; husband, Leonard Stevens; brother, Edgar Schlachter; brother-in-law, Wif Buschkoetter; son-in-law, Steven Monett; great-granddaughter, Indie Worman Monett. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Bill) Hoffman and Marcia Monett; beloved grandchildren, Bill (Suzanne) Hoffman, Steve Hoffman, Alecia (Chris Worman) Monett, and April Criddle; beloved great-grandchildren, Matt (Chrissy) Hoffman, Noah, Rhett, and Marlee; sister, Camilla Buschkoetter; sister-in-law, Mae Schlachter; nieces and nephews. Per Alberta’s request, there will be no viewing hours. Service will be private conducted by Rev. Amy House at the chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
