Alfred G Arndt

Alfred G. Arndt, age 67, passed away on October 16, 2012, at Kobacker House, after a valiant battle against cancer and heart disease. Al is survived by his wife, Margaret (Kitty) Besst Arndt; daughter, Stephanie Arndt Kiss; brother, Allan R. Arndt; mother, Mary Arndt (92); grandchildren, Carl (CJ) Kiss, & Samantha J. Kiss.

Al was predeceased by his father, Alfred Gustave Arndt. Al graduated from Elyria High School. He received his degree in Accounting and Finance from Ohio University. Al proudly served his Country In the US Army as 1st lieutenant in the 20th Air Trans. Company in U.S & VietNam.(1967-69). Al was a past member of Big Brothers in Columbus, Board of Jaycees in Columbus, President and on board of the Metro Columbus American Heart Assoc., member of Business Advisory Council of Columbus Museum of Art, Chairman of Planned Giving & Endowment Committee at Christ Lutheran Church, President and founder of Powell Chapter of Network Professionals and many more. He held designations as CLU, Charter member PACE, CAP, ChFC,. He spent 42 years as a Financial Planner with Steinhaus Financial Group, Lincoln National Life, McCloy Financial, Penn Mutual, Connecticut Mutual, & Mass Mutual. Al had a passion for cooking, traveling, boating, fishing, and spending time with his family & friends. Al cherished being with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his gentle giving nature, positive outlook on life and love of his Lord. Memorial funeral services will be held at 12:00noon on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, 2314 E. Main St., Columbus, Ohio 43209. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service. Family invites you to join them for Lunch at The Wedgewood County Club.
