

Alfred E. Williams, age 80, died Tuesday July 28, 2015 at Crown Pointe Care Center. He was born to the late Howard and Laura (Paul) Williams in Millville, NJ, he is also preceded in death by his brother Ober Williams and his twin sister; Janet Norcross. Al is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie, children; Mark (Tracy) Williams, Laura Blum, David (Leona) Williams, grandchildren; Daniel (Heather) Williams, Jacob Williams, Andrew (Alexis) Blum, Jared Williams, Mackenzie (Eli) Morris, Rachel Blum, Lauren Long, Bradley Long, great grandchildren; Grantley Williams, Rylan Williams, brother; Howard J. Williams Jr., sister; Ruth Forrest, 24 nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends and colleagues. Al graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Geophysics and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He was a member of the tennis team. After college he went to work for Phelps Dodge Copper Co in Douglas, AZ. Al was a member of the Chesapeake United Methodist Church for over 40 years where he served on many committees, including Trustees, Chair of Administrative Board and Financial Secretary. He was in charge of the Fulks Fund and distributed money to those in need to help pay bills. He was a member of the church choir. He was a 50 year member of the Shekinah Lodge FandAM in Millville, NJ where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He volunteered with AARP and helped people complete their taxes. He loved to work with wood, make and fly model airplanes, he could make and fix almost anything. Al never met a stranger, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to help people, but most of all he loved his family and enjoyed being a part of their lives. He coached his sons in football, baseball, and basketball. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on August 29, 2015 at Chesapeake United Methodist Church 501 2nd Ave Chesapeake, OH 45619.
