Alice E. Scott

Alice Eva Scott, age 94, of Gahanna, originally from New Albany, died Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Otterbein Skilled Nursing and Rehab New Albany. She was born May 20, 1922 in Urbana, Ohio, daughter of the late Anna and James Zirkle. Alice retired from New Albany Schools as Treasurer for 25 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, John R. Scott; sisters, Virginia M. Millen and Jo Ann Boster; brothers, Edward F. Zirkle and Elmer H. Zirkle. Alice is survived by her daughter, Darlene E. (Ronald) Sullivan; son, Robert D. (Marilyn) Scott; grandchildren, John R. (Dani) Sullivan, Mary Scott (Steve) Toepfer, Jon (Kate) Mesarch, and Michael Mesarch; great-grandchildren, Jack, Michael, and Luke; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 2-5 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna. Graveside service and interment will take place 11 a.m. Monday at Maplewood Cemetery, New Albany with Pastor Mike Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Alice may be made to the Gahanna Senior Center, 480 Rocky Fork Blvd., Gahanna, Ohio 43230.
