

Preceded in death by his wife, Lucreasey Parsley Marcum; sisters, May Spaulding, Hazel Ward, Rebecca Newman; brothers, Alex Marcum, Roscoe Marcum; Daughter-in-law, Linda Blaker Marcum; granddaughter-in-law, Lisa (Sheets) Marcum. Alonzo is survived by his sons, Clyde and Sherman (Ann) Marcum; daughter, Barbara (Gary) Steele; grandchildren, Lisa (Brad) Gerwig, Justin Marcum, Sherman (Tiffanie) Marcum, Jennifer (Ed) Miller, Stacie (Aaron) Taylor, Ryan Steele, Emily (Travis) Cordes, and David (Jessica) Steele; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Meade. Alonzo was a devoted husband and father who loved his family and instilled in them the value of hard work. Dad was an accomplished Bluegrass musician who loved playing the guitar and singing with his wife and his brother, Alex. He loved sports and was a life-long Cincinnati Reds fan and a passionate West Virginia Mountaineers fan. Our memories of Dad will live in our hearts forever.
Friends may call from 4 pm- 7 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown RD. (at Beecher RD) Gahanna, with a ceremony to begin at 7pm. Funeral Service will begin at 1 pm on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 201 W. Main St., Louisa, KY, with family receiving friends from 10 am until time of service.
