Amare' Cole Smith

Amare' Cole Smith, age 8, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Amare' was promoted to the 3rd grade at Devonshire Alternative Elementary. Amare' will be remembered for his athletic skills in basketball, soccer and baseball. He was a talented artist who loved to build with Legos and Play-Doh. He was an avid chess and video game player. He was a proud Cleveland Cavalier and superhero fan. Most of all, he loved to sing and listen to his father's music. Amare' was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to all. He will be sadly and greatly missed by his loving parents, Bradley Wendell Smith and Chelsie Amanda Cole; siblings, Deonta Smith, Malachi Wilder, Machi Smith, Ny'Asia Faulkner, Xavier Smith, Carter Jones and Kobe Smith; paternal grandmother, Lisa M. Smith; paternal grandfather, John A. Smith; maternal grandparents, Sharon J. and Chester E. Cole, Jr.; paternal great-grandparents, Laura M. Roberts; maternal great-grandparents, Maxine Miller; Aquilla W. and Betty Portis. Aunt, Aquilla R. Portis; uncles, Troy Cole, Antonio (Sandra) Cole, Tracy (Tina) Cole, Shawn Cole, Michale Portis, Stuart Smith and Ryan Smith; special cousin, Kaelan Portis and a host of cousins and many friends. Preceded in death by great-grandparents, Pastor Emeritus Evans Roberts, Chester E. Cole, Sr., and Maybelle Portis. Family will receive friends Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. at St. James B.C. Baptist Church, 1311 E. Hudson Street, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Stephen Dillard, Reverend Sidney Hamilton, Minister Tyrone Cole and Minister Doug Owens officiating.
