

Ann Louise (Thomerson) Elsea passed away peacefully on June 22nd, 2017 in Raleigh, North Carolina at the age of 83. She was born on February 27th, 1934 in Winston Salem, North Carolina to Forest Eugene and Kathryn Viola (Morris) Thomerson. Ann attended Bliss School of Business in Columbus Ohio, and enjoyed the years she spent as a Bookkeeper. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Irvin Elsea.
Ann was a member of the Lexington Lions Club, where she held the following merits: Silver Life Patron, Finis Davis Fellow, Melvin Jones Fellow, Lions Club Endowment Board, Member of Information Committee, Member of Greeter Committee, Member of Diabetes Committee, Lion of the Year (1998-99), Lexington Lions Club Hall of Fame Member (2003), Chair of Eye Screening Committee. She was a member of the Lexington Lioness Club, where she was President from 1991 to 1992, and received the honor of Most Valuable Member in 1996. She was also an avid member of the Daughters of the Nile and the Eastern Star, as well as Flower Mound Texas United Methodist Church. She enjoyed volunteering with Love on Wheels, a dog fostering organization also in Flower Mound.
Ann’s love for God, family, friends, and her country guided her life and her interactions with all she knew. Ann was loved by many, she always made others feel comfortable in her presence. All who knew her will miss these qualities.
Left to mourn her passing are her children: Robert, David, wife Catherine (Moore) Elsea, and Linda Elsea, husband Brandon Smith; her grandchildren: Emma and Meredith Elsea, Ella and Sadie Smith; her brothers: Gene, Keith, and Steve Thomerson; as well as her nephews Jon and Chris Thomerson and Ronin and Theo Mannina, and her niece Julie Thomerson.
Ann’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29th at the Community Methodist Church, located at 120 North Pickaway Street Circleville Ohio, at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Circleville. Arrangements entrusted to Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions in Ann’s memory to Transitions LifeCare and Lexington Lions Club Endowment, Inc.
