

A celebration of life service for Anna Virginia “Ginny” Long will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Criss Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark, Ohio with Pastor Greg Robins officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Ginny passed away peacefully at Licking Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 8, 2010. She was born on May 7, 1919 in Alexandria, Ohio to the late Ernest G. and Eliza(Moore) Brooks. Ginny graduated from Alexandria high school, class of ‘37 and then attended The Newark School of Commerce College, and that’s where she met the love of her life Frank A. “Pete” Long and were married on May 30, 1940. They celebrated over 58 years together before his passing in 1999. She enjoyed weekends with her family at her parents farm, and the yearly reunions at Dennison University in Granville. An avid reader, baseball fan and ceramics artist, her work could be seen at every holiday and season at her home, and she would attend as many of her grandkids baseball games as possible. She attended Linnville Christian Union Church for many years. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children; Dave and Pamela Long of Newark, Steve and Lori Long of Granville, and Nancy and Thomas Wentz of Galena; grandmother of Bill Wentz of Florida, Pamela Wentz of Galena, Bryan (Jennifer) Long of Heath, Matt (Sarah) Long of Toledo, Arile Long of New Mexico, and Leah Long of Granville; great grandmother of Jacob, and Aaron Wentz, twins Bradley and Michael, and Ashley Long.
Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her siblings; brother Vilah Brooks, and sister Marsha Huff.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00PM to8:00PM and Thursday from 12:00PM to 2:00PM prior to service.
