

Anthony “Tony” C. Warren, 70, of Westerville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 11, 2010. He was born August 13, 1939 in Columbus. Tony received a Bachelors degree in Education from The Ohio State University, where he was a member Alpha Phi Alpha, Masters degree from Xavier University, and conducted graduate work in finance and accounting at Wharton School of Economics in Philadelphia. Tony had several years of business and government experience, including Vice President of Wilberforce University, City of Columbus Administrator, restaurant company president, North High School teacher and retired from the State of Ohio after 25 years with the Department of Development. Tony was a student of politics, and ran for Columbus City Council. He was an avid reader and OSU Buckeye fan. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Marjorie Warren; daughter, Tracey L. Spears; aunt, Patricia Crawley; nephew, Jeffrey Crawley and great-aunts, Grace Leatherbury and Dorothy McGee. Tony will be missed by his daughter, Leslee A. Warren, son-in-law, Scott Spears; brother, Steve (Barbara) Warren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special family members, Anne E. Warren, Flo Baquet, Fana Beyene, Barbara Black, Gordon Crawley, and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Tony’s life will be held 11am Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the chapel of Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center.
