Barbara J. Douglas

Mrs. Barbara J. Douglas, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior early in the morning on Monday, March 15, 2021. She was surrounded by her daughter and husband in their home of nearly 60 years. Barbara was born on November 10, 1935 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, where she spent her formative years. She married the love of her life on June 29, 1960, and went on to proudly raise three children in their current hometown of Grove City, Ohio.

Barbara was a hard worker with a strong spirit. Her love for her family, powerful sense of faith, and love of God carried her throughout her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who treasured her family and time spent together above all else.

Barbara is preceded in death by her two sons John Wesley Douglas and James Michael Douglas, as well as her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 61 years, James C. Douglas; daughter Sherry (Timothy) Bova; grandchildren, Stacy (Jay) Olson, Nicholas (Melissa) Bova, Misty (Joey) Gresham, Shawn Douglas, Chris Douglas and Shelly Datz; along with many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Family will receive friends and loved ones on 10 AM - 12 PM Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Schoedinger Grove City 3920 Broadway. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Barbara's family will be holding a private funeral service by invitation only. Pastor Shawn Beauchamp will officiate.
