

Barbara J. Hain, age 87, passed away, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Sunrise of Worthington. She was born May 25, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Laura (Jones) and Marshall Houghn. Barbara attended South Methodist Church until 1955. She was a long time member of Maize Manor United Methodist Church. She graduated in 1945 from South High School and The Ohio State University in June of 1949 where she was a member of Delta Zeta. She married the late, John Hain on August 19, 1949. Barbara retired from O.S.U. Registrar's Office in 1987. She was a member of For-Mel Bridge for 40 years. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John; her parents; In-laws, Jesse and Doris Hain; sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Charles Jones; and grandson, Alan Michael Tobey. Survived by children, Holly Weber, Marcia Hain, Paula (Barney) Spiggle, Dorla (Michael) Tobey and David (Pearl) Hain; grandchildren, Tara (Brad) Gilbert; Jody (Kelly) Reed, Audrey (Chris) Stowers, Jessica (Robert Wisler) Tobey, Kelly (Ben) Hoeger, Jenine and Jacob Hain; great granddaughters, Kaylee Clemans, Bryleigh Reed, Delaney Stowers and Emma Gilbert; cousin, AdaBelle McLaughlin; nieces, Meredith (Paul) Hixson and Jan (Bob) Bishop; along with numerous cousins. Barbara's family wishes to thank the staff of Sunrise of Worthington, Heartland Hospice nursing staff and Comfort Care for the wonderful care and love given to their mom and family. Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 4-7 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held 11:30 AM, Thursday, January 8, 2015. Private family interment at a later date.
