Barbara J. Voss, age 99, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother of Columbus, passed away December 19, 2018. She was born on April 16, 1919 in Burton-on-Trent, England, to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Bannister. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Voss Wicks and son Christopher Voss; 7 grandchildren: Laurie Birrenkott (Brian), Floyd Wicks (Joy), John Wicks (Nikki), Cathy Wicks, Sarah Voss, Kelly Voss and Emma Voss; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 63 years, U.S. Major Warren H. Voss, and 11 brothers and sisters. Barbara served as a fire watcher during the Battle of Britain in WWII, during which she met her husband at a dance in Burton, and was among the last of the British War Brides.
