Beatrice "Bea" Victory

Beatrice “Bea” (Cantu) Victory, 57, of Gahanna lost her difficult and painful battle with uterine cancer on Friday, December 4, 2009. Bea was born August 27, 1952 in Chicago Heights, Ill. There, she attended high school and Prairie State College, where she was the President of the Hispanic Student Association. Upon completion of college, she gained employment at the Federal Highway Administration, where she met George Victory in 1976. Bea and George were married on May 27, 1979. Bea gave birth to her son George in 1981 and daughter, Marisa in 1984. In 1989, George received a promotion and the family moved to Gahanna and became parishioners at St. Matthias Church. In the early years, Bea was active volunteering for church and school fundraisers. Bea was currently employed at Victoria Secret, where she has received several recognition awards, and has been with them for over 20 years. Preceded in death is her mother Aurora Arispe Cantu. Bea leaves behind her husband and love of her life George Victory as well as her adult children, George and Marisa. Bea also leaves behind her 92 year old father Benjamin Cantu, her sisters Delia (James) Gayton, Gloria Cantu, and Ophelia (Sam) Briones as well as her brothers Jose (Mary) Cantu, Benjamin (Becky) Cantu, and John Cantu. Bea was incredibly talented in the arts and has created many pieces of needlework that her family treasures. Through all of her suffering Bea never lost her faith in God and her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Thursday, December 10, 2009 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 1582 Ferris Rd., Columbus, Fr. James T. Smith, Celebrant. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a prayer service at 6pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, Oh.
