

Benjamin F. Horne, Jr., 68, of Circleville, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born December 24, 1943 in Kingston, the son of Benjamin F. and Sara Gladys (Salyers) Horne, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Gary Karr; and mother-in-law, Barbara Neuding. Ben was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Reynolds Aluminum and was a member of the AMVETS and the American Legion. He enjoyed being a grandpa, watching OSU basketball and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Ramey) Horne; son, Benny Horne, III; step-daughter, Christy Kidwell; grandchildren, Whitney, Kayla and Noah; sisters, Virginia Christine (Kenny) Weaver, Wanda (Jim) Shaffer, Louise (George) Bliss; Mary (Keith Buskirk) Hardbarger and Velma (Tom Tackett) McNichols, all of Circleville; several nieces and nephews; and special canine companion, his Yorkie, Gordon.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Justice officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery with military service provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard.
