Bernard Louis Jackson

Bernard "Bernie" Jackson, age 90, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019. He was a 7th son of a 7th son, born to the late Jan and Stephania Jaskiewicz in Johnson City, New York. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bernard Jr.; grandson, Daniel Jackson; and 9 siblings. Bernie was proud to say he served in all 4 branches of the military. He was a member of St. James the Less parish for 63 years. He was also an avid fisherman and gardener, and loved spending time with his family throughout his life. In his later years, Bernie enjoyed his visits to Gillie Senior Center. The world will miss his gift of making a unique connection with everyone he encountered. Bernie is survived by his wife, Eleanor; children, Stephanie Nowak, John (Maryanne) Jackson, Tim (Peggy) Jackson, Karen (Dan) Dudley, Dorothy "Do" (Bob) Bair; daughter-in-law, Debbie Jackson; grandchildren, Matthew (Liz), Lindy (Nick), Emily (Ryan), Taylor, Christopher (Ryan), Geoffrey, Jackson, Ruth (Baker), Carson, Emma (Juan), Sydney, Jordan, Courtney, Lindsey, Allison; great-grandchildren, Cheyann, Cheyenne, Jagger, Gunner, Kylie, Evelyn, Berns, Anthony, Russel, Bernard; brother, Edward Jaskiewicz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH, 43229. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 25, 2019 at St. James the Less, 1652 Oakland Park Ave., Columbus, OH 43224. Fr. Antonio Baus Celebrating. Inurnment to take place at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
