Bernice Louise Perry

Bernice L. Perry, age 96, died January 14, 2016 at Mt. Carmel West. Resident of Brookdale Pinnacle. Born on April 19, 1919 to the late Flossie and Rufus Freeman. Preceded in death by parents and siblings Denver (Juanita) Freeman, Marguerite (Hook) Ward, Donna (Lowell) Henry, Jack Freeman, and nephew, Randy Freeman. Married the only love of her life Edwin H. “Bud” Perry in 1941. He preceded her in death in 2000 after 59 years of marriage. After graduating from West High School, she attended Bliss College and then worked for F & R Lazarus where she retired after 35 years of service. Bernice was a lifetime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, a 50+ year member of OES and Thea Court #5 Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, and Lazarus 20 year club. Bernice loved playing cards, dancing, bowling, and especially golf which she and her husband enjoyed together. Survived by nieces and nephews – caregivers Pete and Rita Jamison, Joyce Klawinski, Judy (Rich) Herman, Sandra (Jeff) Yarnell, Bonnie Selfe, Barbara (Phil) Foran, Jerry (Ruth) Freeman, DeAnna (Harvey) Powell, and Nancy (Tim) Merritt; sister-in-law, Edith Freeman. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church. Family will receive friends Monday, January 18, 2016 from 11 am – 1:00 pm, with service at 1:00 pm with Rev.
