

Betty Jean Ansted, age 86, of Upper Arlington, OH, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017. She was born on July 3, 1930 in Youngstown, OH, to the late Jack and Elizabeth (Polefko) Writer. The late Kenneth Burton Ansted Jr. was her former spouse. A fulltime homemaker, she was active in bridge club, garden club and sewing. She raised her family in Aberdeen MD, Cincinnati, OH, Grosse Isle, MI, and Mobile, AL. In 1969, the family settled into the Upper Arlington, OH area which became the family's home town. As her children became teenagers, she worked full time in administrative support for Chicago Title, Lutheran Social Services and Banc One. Following, she became a licensed realtor and worked with Jim Owen/Century 21 Realtors. She was active in Parents Without Partners and enjoyed socialized with her close friends for bridge or enjoying dinner out. An avid gardener, she was meticulous about grooming her home's gardens, bushes and trees and this kept her active in later years. Member of the U.A. Lutheran Church and Volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She was well loved by family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her children, Tod (Cynthia) Ansted, Lisa Ansted, John (Barbara) Ansted and Linda Ansted; grandchildren, Sara Ansted, Katharine (Tyler) Christensen, Benjamin (Amber) Ansted, Jennifer Ansted and Alexandra Parrott; and great grandchildren, Abigail and Charlotte Christensen, and Theodore Ansted. Family will receive friends 9-10 AM on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where a funeral service will follow at 10 AM. Procession will follow to interment at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH.
