Betty Arena

Betty Lou Latimer Arena, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2014 under the loving care of Kobacker House. She was born in Kenton, Ohio on August 6, 1932 to the late Floyd and Iva Rogers Latimer.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Phil Arena of Columbus; sons Gregory Kim (Pat) Pugh of Virginia Beach, VA and Eric “Chip” Overstreet of Phoenix, AZ; step children Nicole Arena of Columbus and Nick Arena of Long Beach, CA; sister Donna Neal of Portsmouth; sister in law Rosemary Latimer of Kenton; a nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Donald Latimer.

A graduate of Kenton High School. Betty went on to graduate from Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and earned her Master’s in Education from Xavier University. She taught within the Columbus Public School System for 25 years.

Family will receive friends from 11-1pm, Friday, October 3, 2014 at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street in Worthington where her funeral service will begin at 1pm. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
