Betty L. Hunt

Betty L (Skeen) Hunt, age 95, passed safely into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday October 31. She was born March 6, 1930, the 3rd of 15 children born to Joseph L and Lucille (Kelly) Skeen.

Two of her favorite childhood memories were of her Uncle Bud, taking her for ice cream as a young girl. She loved ice cream, especially Butter Pecan. The second was of singing with her sisters, she had the voice of an Angel.

In High school at the age of 15, she met the Love of her life Robert (Bob) Hunt. They married in 1950 and were married until his death in 2020, shortly before their 70th Anniversary.

Soon after they married she got to join him in Germany, where he was stationed in the Army. She flew part of the way in a small twin engine plane and was terrified. They went to Paris, France for a delayed honeymoon. They continued to travel throughout their lives together. In 1959, they drove out west with Bob, Teri, & Grandpa Hunt and went to Disneyland. They saw most of the famous landmarks including Yellowstone Park where they saw 2 Grizzly Bears fighting just feet away from their car. They lived in Florida for several years and enjoyed frequent trips to Disney World. After returning to Ohio they frequently went to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge. Their favorite trips were always the ones with family and friends.

Betty was a loving loving mother of 4, grandmother, friend and sister. Betty’s faith was her compass. She enjoyed reading her Bible, singing, watching Christian & Nature programming and listening to Christian music especially the Gaither’s, and Redeemed Quartet. She loved flowers, hummingbirds and the natural beauty surrounding us, especially sunsets.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 9 siblings: Jimmy Herbert, Joe Jr, Barbara, Patty, Shirley, Nancy, Donna, Gerald and David; her son-in-law, Wayne Jones, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Betty is survived by her children Robert Jr. (Joyce) Hunt, Teri (Mike) Pastor, Tammy Jones and Ron Hunt. Grandchildren: Robb (Jessica) Hunt, Craig (Kristen) Pastor, Brian Hinebaugh, Rich Hunt, Sarah Hunt, Corey (Carrie) Pastor, Rachel Williams, Jordan Robinson and Rebecca Hunt. Grand dog: Barkley. Great grandchildren: Reagan Hunt, Beckham Widner, Braxton Hinebaugh, Bennett & Emery Pastor, Jack & Elizabeth Pastor, Logan, *Luka, and Jevan Hunt, Carter and Max Williams, Peyton, Elliot & Knox Robinson and Jaden Hunt. Siblings: Judy, Beverly, Bud, Donald and Linda Sue; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221, where a Funeral Service will take place t 1 PM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Interment at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
