Betty I. Jewell

Betty was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on December 22, 1932 to the late Ephram J. Kidd and Mabel (Pennington) Woods. She passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Autumn Healthcare Center.

Betty enjoyed reading the Bible, working crossword puzzles and going out looking at lights during the Christmas season. She was a positive person and provided great encouragement while raising her eight children. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her eight children, Linda (Michael) Souter, Dianna (Mike) Miner, Tom (Brenda) Johnson Jr., Albert Jewell, Cindy Williams, David (Lisa) Jewell, Debra (Robert) Isherwood and Maggie (Craig) Hildebrand; two sisters, Sue Kincaid and Mary (Richard) Hayes; two brothers, Wilbur and Vernon Kidd; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Oran Jewell ; one daughter, Theresa Jewell; son-in-law, Donald Cook; and nine brothers and sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Betty to the American Diabetes Association, 471 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
