

Betty (Brown) Lyle, a resident of Powell, Ohio, passed away May 2, 2026 at the age of 91. She was born on March 4, 1935, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to her loving parents, George and Helen (Adsit) Brown.
Betty grew up on the family farm, and from an early age, Betty demonstrated a strong sense of determination and strength that would guide her throughout her life.
She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, where she was among the first women to live on campus—an achievement that reflected both her courage and her commitment to breaking new ground for future generations.
Betty dedicated her professional life to helping others as a dietician at Cleveland VA Medical Center, Louisville VA Medical Center, and Ohio State University, providing care, guidance, and compassion to those she served. Her work reflected her deep belief in the importance of health, well-being, and caring for others.
She met her husband, Lewis Lyle, in Louisville Kentucky and the two were united in marriage on July 7, 1962, in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Their marriage was a true partnership, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they built a life centered on family, shared values, treasured traditions and a strong Christian faith. They were blessed with three children Sally, Becky, and Stuart—who were the center of their marriage.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Betty was a devoted and active member of Saint Andrew Christian Church in Dublin, Ohio, where she built lasting friendships and found great joy in worship, service, and fellowship. Betty served on the board of Saint Andrew as treasurer until her passing.
She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and grace, as well as her deep devotion to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she so freely gave.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Sally Villani (husband, Tom) of Allen, Texas, and Becky Honeck (husband, Herm) of Columbus, Ohio; son, Stuart Lyle (wife, Jill) of Dublin Ohio; grandchildren, Morgan Richey (husband, Corey), Brooke Taylor (husband, Jonathan), Carly Honeck, Rachel Lyle, Julia Lyle, Lauren Young (husband, Eric), Sarah Tonti, and seven great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss her and fondly cherish her memory.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents George and Helen Brown, beloved husband, Lewis Lyle, and brother, Robert Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at Saint Andrew Christian Church, 1985 Swansford Drive Dublin Ohio, 43016.
A reception will follow the funeral. Following the reception, interment will take place at Kingwood Memorial Park.
The family will receive guests during a visitation from at 9:00 AM to 10 AM, Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at Saint Andrew Christian Church
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army or St Andrew Christian Church in memory of Betty Lyle.
