

Betty Jean McCarthy, age 88, of Gahanna, OH, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013. She was born to the late Clarence and Ruth Joslin in Detroit, MI on December 7, 1924. Betty was a member of Stonybrook United Methodist Church, where she was very involved. She was a part of the Bereavement Committee, Baptismal Committee, and was Stonybrook's first cake cutter. She volunteered at Mt. Carmel East and Riverside Hospital, where she crocheted and quilted blankets for new mothers. Betty was an extraordinary baker and was known for her Butterhorn rolls and pies. She was a loving and unselfish wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by beloved husband of 43 years, Patrick McCarthy. She is survived by her loving children, Kathleen (David) Killinger, Donald (Elaine) McCarthy, and David (Pamala) McCarthy; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Friends may call from 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown RD. (at Beecher RD.)
