Betty Louise Rice, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026. Born on March 28, 1928, in McArthur, Ohio, to Eura and Jane McWhorter. Betty led a full and joyful life. A devoted homemaker, she found happiness in everyday moments, from bowling and coloring to camping and traveling. Her quick wit and great sense of humor made her a beloved companion to all who knew her. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd A. Rice, five siblings, and her daughter-in-law Dorothea Rice. She is survived by her children, Lloyd “Randy” Rice, Barbara (Jack) Fox, and George “Mike” (Beverly) Rice; grandchildren Karen, Michael, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Gary, Kevin, and Chad; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Advantage Funeral Service by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Sunset Cemetery Chapel, 6959 W. Broad Street, Galloway, Ohio. In lieu flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association to honor Betty.
