Betty Lou Tolbert

Betty L. Tolbert, age 86 passed away at Mt. Carmel East Hospital on Thursday, December 24, 2015. She was born in Johnstown, Pa. on February 16, 1929 to the late Marcus and Ida Crigger. She had a long and successful career at Coaxial Communications, retiring after more than 20 years of service. Betty was a long time member of Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Gahanna. She loved to travel and was able to go on a church mission trip to Africa. Betty was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will truly be missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; 3 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her children, Linda Roberts, Kathy (Al) Rhinehart, Dave (Cindy) Sorg, Lewie Tolbert, Davie (Carol) Tolbert, Bev Abshire and Jimmy (Tina) Tolbert; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Woodlands Assisted Living and at Mt. Carmel Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care and compassion. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.) Gahanna, where the family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Pastor Tim Swanson officiating. Interment to follow at Pioneer Cemetery in Westerville.
