Bill J. Picklesimer, 75, of Columbus, passed away June 21, 2010. He was born May 19, 1935 in Hagerhill, KY to the late Dorman and Rebecca Picklesimer. Bill is also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Roma Jack, Herschel, Clifford, Paul, Ival Picklesimer; sisters, Edna Dieterich, Neva Harter and grandson, Joseph Lathem. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sue; children, David (Kim) Picklesimer, Becky (Paul) Rogers, Karen (Joe) Costell; 7 grandchildren, Brad, Matthew (Laura), CPL Michael (Jennifer), Robert, Andrea, Stacy (Joe), Sarah (Mark); 1 step grandchildren Joanna; 8 great-grandchildren, Kelli (Sugarbaby), Kylie, Michelle, Christina, Michael, Sarah, Emileigh, Olivia; 7 step-great grandchildren, Devon, Whitney, Colin, Austin, Daniel, Jonathan and Jesse; brother, Dorman (Claudette) Picklesimer, Jr; sisters, Jean Spears, Minerva (Bob) Auxier, Mary (Don) Hampton; numerous nieces and nephews. Bill retired from Willamette Industries after 38 years of service. Bill was a member of Westgate Baptist Church. He was very active in church, helping with VBS and being the Sunday School Secretary. Bill enjoyed gardening, woodworking and the OSU Buckeyes. Bill’s main love in life was God and his family. He took great pride in teaching his children and grandchildren the value of family, the love of Jesus Christ. Bill was a very compassionate man and loved helping those in need. Bill was a kind hearted, generous man that lived the Bible. Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Friday, June 25, 2010 at Westgate Baptist Church 4234 Clime Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43228. Pastor Lester Reaper will be officiating with interment at Grove City Cemetery.
