It was an honor to play Taps for Carl E Stewart, your loved one.  I can only speculate the emotions you are going through at this difficult time.  I’m sorry you and your family are having to experience loss this Christmas Season.  

In reading about Carl, speaking with his daughter he sounds like a good man that put his family first. My guess is that he used music to make things well in his life.  Art through music or paint is a gift to others as well to self. I’m happy he shared his gift throughout his life.  

Schoedinger ‘s gave me an honorarium to play Taps.  For me the honor is mine to play.  So, on the occasions that I receive a financial gift I always donate the money.  I have made a donation in the name of Carl E. Stewart to the Patriot Art Foundation. Their mission includes:

Carl’s daughter (I believe) spoke with me after the graveside ceremony and mentioned that Carl had played Taps at military services while he was stationed at Ft Dix, NJ. From one bugler to another “Stand down soldier your mission is complete.”

Words cannot express how sorry we are. Butch and I love Carl so much. My children think of him as their grandfather. He attended every graduation, wedding and special event he could. We will miss him greatly. Love to you   Tina and Butch

So sorry for your/our loss!  A great man who loved Aunt Betty with his entire being.  I remember the good old days when Uncle Carl  and Aunt Betty and other family and friends would come up to our house to camp out back and play music all weekend.  Good old days.

We are so sorry to hear of Carl’s passing.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sending prayers and condolences to the Stewart Family. Sherry, Mike, Keith. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father, and my uncle. He was one of the good guys and I loved him dearly. 

He was such a great husband and father. I spent quite a bit of time when i was young with them. I enjoyed listening to him play his guitar and sing he was very talented, he also had a great sense of humor and always had a twinkle in his eyes.

I will miss him greatly...Mary L. Slane and family.

My sympathy goes to the Stewart family.  Carl was my favorite uncle. He was very  friendly and nice to everybody. He was a caring husband and father. 

I remember when he was younger he performed with his band in the Gahanna bars. Betty and their relatives and friends went every weekend to listen to the band play. He was a talented singer/musician and I enjoyed watching him perform.

I will miss him very much!
