How do I begin to say how blessed I have been and always will be to have not only a MOM in law but a friend that I will miss everyday of my life. I can not imagine you not being here everyday. Your laughing with us, crying when we were sad, listening when we needed someone to guide us the right way. Both of us  driving Doug's Demon, Pulling into the gas station to put gas in the car and laughing hysterically when the gas station attendant asked if the gas gauge worked because it only needed a 1.25 in gas. Who else knows the answers to everything we could even imagine from songs to stories to authors to history to dates of important events to dates of what others would consider not important.Carol you were always the one that would have the answer. How do we explain to all these grand babies of yours that you are with Jesus and Grandpa when they can not understand you not being here in your chair waiting with a big Hug for all of them? I know in my head that you are no longer in pain. That you are now with the man you have missed since the day he died. But my heart says I miss you, I want you here with us. Someday my head and heart will agree but not yet! I thank you for accepting me into this family 35 years ago. For loving me unconditionally. For being the one that was willing to knock on our door at 3:00 in the morning to tell me to get dressed, the hospital had called and mom was dying. For standing beside me knowing how bad the pain and hurt would be because you had been there. No one could have a greater second Mom then me. Now your babies have to walk through this. I wish I had great words of wisdom but all I can remember is what you said to me , You will miss her everyday of your life but as time goes by the pain becomes less but the memories will come more .When you need her the most, she will be there! And she will be !!

I have so many memories of Carol, picking one is very hard for me, but I guess my most favorite memory is of Carol, Debbie and I doing the dishes after dinner.  Carol would wash the dishes and sing Doris Day songs.  Debbie and I would dry the dishes and we would laugh and try to sing them too.  Well a couple of years ago on New Years Eve at Debbie's house we brought up those memories, Carol couldn't believe we remembered those times, I told her I would never forget them.  Then Debbie and I sang two of our favorite songs and Carol just laughed.  Thank you Carol Blankenship, thanks for all the memories but more importantly thanks for always welcoming me into your home and your family, you will never know what that meant to me! Carol was one of our favorite customers. She always had a smile on her face  and a joke to tell. She never missed a chance to harass our boss when she was in. She will be missed by. She would always ask us how we were doing and you knew she cared. Thoughts and prayers for the family.

I always loved Carol because she never minced words.  Just told it like she saw it, but always with a sense of humor.  She was always a kind hearted woman, though I know she had faced many challenges in her own life.  I will miss your spunk! ;-)
