Carolyn Ann Korting

Carolyn Ann Korting, our beautiful angel on earth, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born on September 18, 1950, in Charleston, West Virginia as the third of four daughters to Jack and Floradell Facemyer (Stutton). In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in passing by her son, Kenneth Owens Jr.; stepfather, Robert Stutton; stepmother, Myrtle Facemyer and stepbrother, Jeff Stutton. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Joseph (Mike) Korting; daughter, Michelle Korting (Ray Grozdanovski); son, Jonathon Korting (Marie Korting); grandchildren, Kenneth lll, Koty, Kayla, Korey, Jacqueline, Steven, Anthony, Eric and Camden; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Haven, Corey, Kenny IV, Rocco and Mila; sisters, Lana (Jim) Fox, Jewell (Norm) Miller and Jacqueline McDaniels; stepsister, Linda (Allen) Jones and stepbrother, Stanley Stutton along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She grew up in Columbus, Ohio, attended Central High School and later trained in phlebotomy. She retired in 2013 from Ohio Health where she enjoyed serving patients whom she would not allow to leave without a smile on their face. Carolyn will be remembered as an incredibly sweet, kind and happy person who brightened the day of all she encountered. Her true joy came from spending time with her family and loved ones to whom she cherished. The family fondly remembers gatherings with her mother and sisters where continuous laughs could be heard throughout, especially when entertaining grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. A graveside service will be held on a later date at Sunset Cemetery with Roger Clevenger officiating. She will be deeply missed by her family who are eternally grateful to the nurses and doctors at Riverside Methodist Hospital ICU for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Heart Associating in Carolyn’s memory.

A Graveside Service, officiated by Roger Clevenger, will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Cemetery 6959 West Broad Street, Galloway, Ohio 43119. Immediately following the service there will be a wake held at AMvets Post 1928, 3780 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43228.
