

Cecil Floyd Albery, 87 of Arizona, formally of New Albany, OH, peacefully passed away on June 20, 2013 after a short bout with cancer. He was born May 25, 1926 to Harry and Elizabeth (Beatty) Albery in Newark, Ohio. Preceded in death by his first wife of 57 years, Dorothy Williams; brothers, Frank and Kenny; sister, Florence Welch. Cecil is survived by his second wife, Jane (Hillard) of Queen Valley, AZ; daughter, Linda McKinley of Zanesville, OH; son, Steven (Penny) Albery of Omaha, NE; brother, Bob (Merilee) of Del Barton, WV; 5 grandchildren, Cindi, Steve, whom was raised by his grandparents, Michael, Larry, and Stephanie; 9 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Cindy (Joel) Vail of Delaware, OH; extended family and friends. Mr. Albery proudly served his country in the US Navy in WWII. On May 18, 2012, Cecil along with his guardian, Joel Vail, was on the last full Honor Flight of WWII veterans out of Columbus, OH going to Washington, D.C. to visit the war memorials, which he enjoyed very much. Cecil was an auto mechanic with the Green Cab Co. and transportation resources in Columbus, OH until his retirement in 1991. Cecil was a square dance caller for 35 years until losing his hearing. He started the Little Brown Jug Singles square dance group, which is still active today. He was an avid bluegrass fan for many many years. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:30am at Jersey Universalist Cemetery, 13134 Worthington Rd., Pataskala, OH 43062.
