Cecil Robert McMullen

Cecil R. McMullen, age 87, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on December 26, 2015 at the Franklin Woods Health Care Center. He was born in Quitman, Mississippi on May 14, 1928 to Charlie and Myrtle McMullen. Cecil proudly served our country from 1946 - 1948. He retired from Xerox. Preceded in death by his wife, Delores; parents and four brothers, Clyde M. and Wayland (Carolyn) of Mississippi, Walter Bryon (Wanda) of Alabama, Tommy R. (Lois) North Carolina and a sister, Margie L. (Willie) of Columbus. Cecil is survived by a son, Paul of Orient and a daughter, Dora of Tennessee. Cecil was blessed with many nieces, nephews and close friends, including special nephew and caretaker, Frederick "Gene" (Sue) Rainey of Hilliard and niece, Brenda ( J. William "Bill") Weber of Canal Winchester. Cecil will be remembered as a wonderful uncle with a quick sense of humor and would be the first to offer help to anyone that needed it. Family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio where a celebration of life ceremony will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, December 31, 2015 with J. William "Bill" Weber officiating. Interment Obetz Cemetery. Memorial contribution can be made to the American Cancer Society.
