Charles Franklin “Frankie” Collins, age 31, of Columbus, Ohio entered peacefully into the arms of God on Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Frankie was born November 12, 1979 in Okeechobee, Florida and at the age of four moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he lived the rest of his life. He worked as a waiter and attended Columbus State with hopes of becoming a journalist. Because of health issues, he was unable to continue his education. He enjoyed writing, especially poetry, and loved watching movies, the scarier the better. Frankie enjoyed music and loved to sing. His neighbors enjoyed the days when he was outside grilling and always willing to share his good food. He was a member of Faith Mission United Holiness Church. Frankie is survived by his mother, Joyce Collins Thompson; godmother, Gwen Beck; foster parents, Millie and Mack Smith; aunts, Marvene, Suzie (Jerry), and Donna; uncles, Wayne (Linda) and Frank. He will also be missed by his beloved dogs, Chance and Emily. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Lida Beltz and his Uncle Ronnie. A memorial service will be held at 4pm Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232 where friends may visit beginning at 3pm; Pastor Willie Lyles, will officiate. Following services, family and friends will gather at the Golden Corral for a meal together. Frankie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rea for all of his compassionate care over the years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
