Charles W Ely, age 80 of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on August 26, 2016 at the Laurels of Hilliard. He was born October 9, 1935 to the late Ernest and Grace Ely. Charles retired from The Ohio Printing Company with 35 years of service. He served in the Marines during the Korean War. He loved being with his family, fishing and sports. Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine of 57 years; son in-law, Gary; sister, Erma Jean; and brothers, Ernest and Lester. He is survived by children, Marcena (Jim), Marvena (Mike), Lorraine, Charlie (Charlene), Ernest and Christopher; sister, Lori Edgar and sisters-in-law Dorothy Ely and Rebecca Dolby; nieces Cathy and Ruth; nephew Tim; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
