

Charles L. Julian, 94, of Stoutsville, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 13, 1917 in Saltcreek Twp., the son of the late Charles E. and Dessie (Horn) Julian. He was a 1938 graduate of Saltcreek High School and was a WWII Army veteran. Charlie enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, especially growing sunflowers. He loved Pumpkin Show and placing his vegetables in competition.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Julia (Smallwood) Julian in 2000; his brothers, Harvey and Adam; and his sisters, Goldie and Zelda. He is survived by his son, Charles T. “Chuck” (Valerie) Julian; grandsons, Chuckie (Amanda) Julian and Jerod Julian; great-grandchildren, Emma and Grace; several nieces and nephews; special neighbors Amber and John Hunt, special friends, Sharon and Eddie Crabbe and family; his caregivers from Acclaim Hospice, Tangela, Tish, Dennis and Stacey; and special canine companions, Groucho and Shasta.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, October 15, 2012 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Elmer Winner officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery with military service provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard. Friends may call from 1-4 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
